Whether you are pursuing gender-affirming top surgery, on a recovery journey from breast cancer, or simply undergoing breast reduction or augmentation, I am here to lend my heart and hands to the healing!
Most other types of surgery involve extensive rehabilitation and after care, but for breast and chest surgeries, the options are limited. The massage methods that I utilize are research-backed and shown to speed healing, minimize complications, improve ranges of motion, decrease pain and discomfort, and help you to mentally/emotionally/spiritually adjust to your new body.
I am honoured to work with you in your recovery journey, combining skill with good listening and an inclusive, trauma-informed space. Whether you are 1 week post-op, 6 months, 5 years or beyond, techniques are generally light touch and suitable for all stages of healing.
Types of procedures I am trained to work with:
Post-surgical massage can help to:
Your initial session will be 75-minutes, in which we will review your health history and clarify your specific needs and goals in working together. If you'd like to discuss the details of your specific procedure and treatment needs, you can e-mail me at info@jessicajoybodywork.com to schedule a time to speak.
**Oncology patients require a doctors note of permission to receive massage**

Comprehensive Breast and Chest Surgery Training Certificate. Training program by Erin Price, RMT of www.mastectomyguide.com
"I was referred to Jessica by a friend and colleague who sang her praises for recovery post bilateral mastectomy with tissue reconstruction.
Jessica has dramatically increased my quality of life by decreasing the pain that my surgeries have caused. By creating facial release my chest and abdomen has felt so much more comfortable and way less restricted. She has also incredibly reduced a significant mass of scar tissue in my breast that was caused by a tissue expander. It is always a joy to find someone as caring and genuinely lovely as she is.
As I am sure many can imagine chest massage is a very vulnerable place to be, I have never felt less than comfortable and respected while with Jessica. I also very much appreciate that she has created accessibility with a fair pay scale.
I have nothing but kudos and praise for Jessica not only as a caring and empathic practitioner but also as an amazing human being." Kat Davis, 2025
Not covered by Insurance, MSP or health savings accounts. I'm not registered here in BC as I did all of my training and licensing in Seattle, WA. Rates for an RMT massage in Victoria are between $120-$150 per hour. I have set my rates well below that average, despite having comparable training and 15 years experience in order to balance the out of pocket expense.
*Sliding Scale*
In an effort to provide accessible care for those who would benefit, I offer these sessions on a sliding scale basis. If this scale is still out of reach for you, I will offer a limited number of further decreased sessions for those who are a good fit for this work. E-mail info@jessicajoybodywork.com to enquire.
75 Min Initial Treatment and Assessment: $115-$160 ($135 average)
60 Min Subsequent Treatment Session: $100-$145 (Average $120)
For those in the late subacute and chronic phases of healing, 90 and 120 minute massage/craniosacral combination sessions can be booked, upon request.
