5 Week Series Sunday nights

Science shows us that stress is one of the most direct causes for illness today. Our modern culture has us on overdrive constantly! Something even less talked about though, in our world of smart phones and packed schedules, is the loss of a sense of meaning and purpose in life.
Meditation is a path to regain connection with the ground of Being that exists here at all times, within each of us. It helps us remember who we really are so we can respond to life with intention, from a centered place of personal power.
In this 5 week class, we will explore meditation from both a scientific perspective for stress reduction, as well as from a spiritual and energetic perspective for healing and personal growth.
Week 1 – Foundations. What is mediation? Why do we do it? Exploring the basic principles and how to drop into “the zone” by creating sacred space with ritual.
Week 2 – The barriers to meditation. What keeps us from being able to commit to practice? What do we do when the mind is so busy we can’t find stillness? What about when difficult emotions arise? We’ll discuss strategies to move through these blocks including energy practices and how to decompress the nervous system.
Week 3 – Breath and mantra. More tools for working through mental, physical and energetic blocks with breathwork and mantra.
Week 4 – Energy practices. An exploration of the chakra system and how energy circulates, as well as grounding and clearing practices.
Week 5 – Meditation for healing and accessing intuition. The next level! Learn how accessing a meditative state can help you gain intuitive guidance and heal yourself. (Even if you don’t feel like you have an intuitive bone in your body!)
This will be an interactive class with time for practice and discussion. You are invited to commit to an at-home practice in-between sessions, at whatever time of day or length you can realistically stick with. This is where the real jewels will be unearthed!
We will also harness the power of gathering in community to create a group field that allows all of us to go deeper faster through the momentum we create around a shared intention.
I’ll be drawing from my almost 20 years of experience as a meditator, healer and yogi to bring what I have found to be the most helpful and sometimes overlooked pieces to make meditation a joy, and something you eventually won’t be able to live without!
